Irish ’seisiun’ at Dunne’s in White Plains

August
27

I noticed this item in the LoHud calendar today:

Traditional live Irish music seisiun takes place at Dunne’s Pub in White Plains every Wednesday night from 7:30-10:30 p.m. with Brian Conway & Friends.

These seisiuns have become one of the most popular in the tri-state area. Many famous musicians have played with Brian including Jerry O’Sullivan, Joanie Madden, Mike Rafferty, Martin Mullhare and the late Andy McGann to name a few. Enjoy the music and traditional Irish fare such as shepherd’s pie, corned beef and cabbage, fish & chips and drinks including Guinness, Smithwicks, Harp, Murphy’s Stout and Murphy’s Red. 15 Shapham Place, White Plains, 914-421-1451.

Just thought I’d bring it to our readers’ attention because this is a fine example of traditional music. Obviously very rootsy and the scene at Dunne’s resembles something you might find in Galway. I give it a Guinness cheers. Get there early if you want a seat, expect all ages.
