I love improv, especially when it involves a cast like this!

The Willie Waldman Project invaded The Field in Bridgeport, Conn., last week for a night of down and dirty improvisation that touched upon just about every bit of the musical spectrum.
The cast included Waldman on trumpet, moe.’s Vinnie Amico on drums, Deep Banana Blackout’s Fuzz on guitar, The Breakfast’s Tim Palmieri on guitar and Gent Treadly’s Greg Koerner on bass.
It was interesting to watch this group of very talented musicians find their way through the grooves, sometimes fast and furious, other times more mellow and meandering, often times quite funky.
I always feel there’s something so magical about improvisation. The guys went into this having no idea what was going to happen, just trusting in themselves and eachother. And the result, in my opinion, was spectacular. Good God would I love to see this go down again!
Unfortunately Waldman lives all the way out in Hollywood, but dude, you’ve gotta get back East and throw down again — soon!
