Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwiches, Anyone?

Elvis impersonators are a strange breed. They’re half-musician, half-Star Wars conventioneer; some of them kind of look like Elvis, some of them kind of look like the plumber down the street. It’s not just a paycheck for them, either: they seem to enjoy the performance at least as much as the spectators do.
But much like The King’s craving for fried peanut butter and amphetamine sandwiches, real Elvis fanatics want their fix however they can find it. For Westchester locals, that means Dean Ciallella, a Hartsdale resident who can belt out songs like “Hound Dog” and “Are You Lonesome Tonight?” with hip-thrusting bravado, but without splitting the seams of his glitzy body suit (However, Ciallella, who seems a bit paunchy, might be a latter-day incarnation of the legendary singer).
Here’s a video of Ciallella at what appears to be a campground (not exactly Vegas, but it works). For you’re own private show check him out here or on MySpace.

Wow – you gotta love the press for publishing a seemingly innocent piece riddled with rude/condescending comments about somebody who is trying to have a good time and entertain others. The writer referred to Dean as “paunchy” and basically compared him to a fat Elvis. Are you kidding me? Dean is 5’11” and about 190 lbs. Since when was that considered paunchy!? I welcome you to come to his next show with a camera and post pictures on your site or in your newspaper! Skinny Elvis strikes back!
This guy is FAR from paunchy!Look at the way the belt sits above his HIPS-he’d be BURSTING out ALL over the place! He looks pretty LEAN to me…The vocals were downright IMPRESSIVE.I am in total DISAGREEMENT with the author of the article, this is no “LATTER DAY Elvis- this is Elvis in his HEYDAY! A Hunk of BURNIN’ LOVE!
Thanks for writing this great blog I really enjoyed.
