Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted has no regrets since leaving the band, and is looking forward to reuniting with the legendary rockers when they’re inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday, he tells Rolling Stone magazine.
Newsted has agreed to take the stage with his former band, including his replacement, Rob Trujillo, when they play at the Hall ceremony.

Newsted left the band in 2001 after 15 years alonside frontman/guitarist James Hetfield, lead guitarist Kirk Hammet and drummer Lars Ulrich. He went on to join Canadian rockers the Voivods and even took Trujillo’s place in Ozzy Osbourne’s band for OzzFest2003.
He told Rolling Stone last month that he had agreed to the Hall of Fame gig, and more recently expressed no second thoughts since walking away due to personal reasons.
