The Rolling Stones are announcing the pending release of re-mastered versions of 14 of their classic albums, starting next month. The collection consists of the band’s recordings since 1971, they told fans on their website.
The planned re-release will include a collector’s box to hold all 14 CDs, and will culminate with the reissue of Exile on Main Street, perhaps the Stones’ most celebrated album. That release will be “part of a wider celebration, ” the band said.

Another four albums will be released in June — including 1978’s Some Girls — with the rest to follow. The question, of course, is what the “wider celebration” will be with the release of Exile at the end.
Anyone thinking world tour?
