George Harrison to join Hollywood walk of fame

April
4

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce says late Beatle guitarist George Harrison will be getting a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. The unveiling is scheduled for April 14, according USA Today.

He’ll join former bandmate John Lennon among the 2,382 stars that line the walk.

Harrison died of cancer in 2001, while Lennon died in 1980 after being shot outside the Dakota apartments in Manhattan. Harrison enjoyed a successful recording career after the Beatles disbanded in 1970.

The Walk of Fame he’ll be added to is the brainchild of artist Oliver Weismuller, who was hired in 1953 to spruce up Hollywood. SInce, the names of every famous—and sort of famous—celebrity has been added.
