Grammy-winning rockers Green Day are kicking off their summer tour in a big way, including a series of appearances and performances in the Big Apple this week.
For starters, the band is scheduled to play the Bowery Ballroom tomorrow night for a special show for its fan club, the Idiot Club. Then Tuesday comes another invitation-only show at Webster Hall.

Then come the TV plugs: The Colbert Report on Thursday and Letterman on Friday.
Speaking of Friday, the California punk rockers are also due to kick off Good Morning America’s summer concert series at Central Park as well.
But don’t sweat it: Even if you miss them this time around they’re still on tap to play Madison Square Garden on July 27, when their U.S. tour brings them back to town.
The whole thing revolves around the new release of their latest album, 21st Century Breakdown.
Talk about coming back on the scene in full force.
