Yorke is serious about the issue. He used the band’s MySpace page to urge American fans to sign the online Stop Global Warming petition, which seeks to push the bill with public support. So far, more than 1.2 million signatures have been added to the effort.
“Currently there is talk of a climate change bill in the US similar to the one we have passed in the U.K,” Yorke said on the MySpace site.
“That’s a BIG deal,” he said. “I have been reading how the oil industry is investing millions of dollars in a PR campaign against it! How utterly dumbass is that? How do these people look their children in the eye?”
