That didn’t take long.
Not bad, considering the last time they had a record debut at number one it was with 2004’s American Idiot, and that won them a Grammy and more than a dose of critical acclaim.

Rolling Stone magazine says Breadown sold 214,000 copies since its release last Friday, enough to put it at the top of the charts. The news comes as Green Day is launching a full-scale blitz to promote the album and their upcoming world tour.
They played the Bowery Ballroom and Webster Hall in closed shows earlier this week, and are scheduled to go on Letterman, Colbert and Good Morning American before hitting the road.
The tour will bring them back to town at the end of July for a show at Madison Square Garden.
Things are certainly looking good for Green Day.
