Funk metal masters Living Color is set to release their first studio album in five years, Rolling Stone magazine reports.
The album, to be titled The Chair in The Doorway and recorded in the Czech Republic, is due to for release in September, and will be followed by a world tour.

The record will be Living Color’s fifth studio production, and comes 21 years after the bands debut effort, Vivid. Guitarist/founder Vernon Reid assures fans that the new album will be “the best record we’ve made yet.”
The British-born Reid founded the band in New York City in 1983, seeking an all-black band that would make a dent in the industry. The band released Vivid in 1988, and followed up with a series of successful releases. Reid himself gained international acclaim as one of the industry’s premier guitar players.
But turmoil within the band led to their breakup after their 1993 release, Stain. They went off on side projects until reuniting in 2000 with a lineup that includes singer Corey Glover.
Now they’re back in full force with a record under their belt.
