-
- October
- 20
Corey J. Feldman, founder of the NYC-based band Mercury Landing, is in the process of creating a rock opera. Kindly, he has agreed to share a new piece of it each week with us here in the Listening Room.
“The Green Emerald,” as the opera has been named, is almost three years in the making. An illustrated storybook will also accompany the performance of the opera, which will take place at 8 p.m Dec. 4th and 5th at the Bowery Poetry Club, located at 308 Bowery in Manhattan.
Below we have the sixth installment, entitled “Wonder in Aliceland.” Click here for all previous entries. Enjoy!
VI – “Wonder in Aliceland”
These be the thoughts,
The shaded dreams he’d find,
Buried deep within,
King Hania’s inner mind.
He believed he was an idol,
For children all around,
As his face was seen on TV,
But the truth would soon be found.
SONG (starts with a chorus)
*Fly your dreams away from here,
Into a crystal sparkling sphere,
Of colored cubes a Rubik’s fable,
A fairy tale for kids on cable.
V1
Catch me with your camera,
Confront me with your lies,
I’ll give you something good to think on,
Which your thoughts will rise.
Images in front of me,
A box of colors I can’t see.
They say my blood is made of steel,
Of mercury I cannot feel.
*Fly your dreams away from here,
Into a crystal sparkling sphere,
Of colored cubes a Rubik’s fable,
A fairy tale for kids on cable.
Seek me with your spotlight,
Approach me with your blade.
Sense of something iridescent,
That the blacksmith made.
First impression lost in sand,
Then filtered through my holy hand,
To see myself in my reflection,
Sand is glass in introspection.
*Fly your dreams away from here,
Into a crystal sparkling sphere,
Of colored cubes a Rubik’s fable,
A fairy tale for kids on cable.
