We started on Feb. 25, profiling guitar wiz Stevie Vai. Last week we gave you metal master Ritchie Blackmore.
Vai and Blackmore are the bookends for our ‘Guitar Players You Should Know’ series, a weekly profile of guitar players who you may or may not know about – but certainly should if you’re a music fan.
This week, we take a break and share our Top 40 – the first 40 guitarists we’ve profiled.
Over the course of this year, we’ve given you jazz, funk, blues, metal and a few other genres. Our hope is that we’ve introduced you to some new music, reminded you of preformers you’d forgotten about, or simply focused on one of your favorite guitarists, be it Buckethead or Larry Carlton.
We’ll continue to profile artists for you in the future, starting with next week. In the meantime, here’s our list so far, with links so you can check out our posts on each:
(NOTE: This is part of my ongoing series of reports on guitar players who fly under the mainstream radar. Keep checking The Listening Room for future installments of guitar players you should know – JF)
