We told you in April about The Jukebox Romantics when we covered a local-band lineup at the Eagles Hall in Ossining.
Well, we’ve been following the progress of the up-and-coming New York City punk-ska band, which has deep ties to the Lower Hudson Valley. Turns out they’re doing quite well, and are currently on a tour of the West Coast before making their way back to Brooklyn in September.
We see big things for these guys, so stay tuned.
The band is fronted by singer Chris Schultz, and features bassist Michael “Bread” Malarky Stratton and is rounded out by three local musicians — drummer Joe Jacobs from White Plains, and guitar players Seth Delton of Tarrytown and Michael Terry from Dobbs Ferry.
Like we said, keep an eye out, and look for more info about local bands from the New York metro area. We have a few we’re scouting out and will try to give you a heads-up now and again.
As for the Romantics, they’re scheduled to head back east and play the Trash Bar in Brooklyn on Sept. 11. They’re promoting their self-titled release from earlier this year, which they put out after singing a deal with Altercation Records a year ago this month.
So, check them out.

I’ve seen the Jukebox Romantics twice now at the Chance in Poughkeepsie, and both times they were amazing, I felt bad for the headliners who had to follow them…really a great band really a great album.
Didn’t you find inspiration from, “Laws do not persuade just because they threaten..”.
