Brown, a talented folk singer and guitar player, brings an interesting perspective to his songwriting, weaving his talents as an artist and illustrator into his lyrics and melodies. In true troubadour fashion, he writes and sings about the world around him and his perspective on it all, while delving into more deeply personal material like his relationship with his father.
And he delivers with a deep, resonant voice that’s unique on its own. His gig in Larchmont (details below) is our recommendation of the week.
Brown is playing behind his third release, Characterist – a word play on his skills as an illustrator. You can listen for yourself on Thursday, June 7, when he will perform at 8 p.m. with guitarist Peter Calo. The show is at Watercolor Cafe, 2094 Boston Post Road, Larchmont, NY. You can call the cafe for more details, at 914-834-2213.
And keep tabs on Brown. He’s been doing regular gigs in the area and always makes for a worthwhile night of good music.
