Anyone who’s ever been to the Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival at Croton Point Park ( June 15 & 16), knows it’s more than a mere festival or a concert or a picnic on the river.
Sure, it’s all of those things at once. But having said that, you haven’t said much about it. The Clearwater festival is a vibe and an ambiance and a communal, riverside experience that draws people in by the thousands, from near and far, and brings them back year after year.
From sustainably powered stages for music, dance and storytelling to small boat exhibits and rides, an artisanal food & farm market and environmental education displays, the whole thing is inspired by folk legend Pete Seeger. Forty years ago, the Hudson River activist championed the Clearwater sloop/floating classroom for which the festival and its non-profit environmental organization are named.
So, yeah, it’s something people, a good 15,000 a year, just want to be a part of.
With that in mind, we’re giving away a pair of weekend passes to one lucky winner who shares a photo with us on social media that embodies for them what the Clearwater festival is all about. That could be you at a past year’s festival, a snapshot you once grabbed of Seeger himself or something completely different that still speaks to the Clearwater ethos.
All you have to do to enter is find us @lohud on Twitter or Instagram or on Facebook or Google Plus and share your photo with us by the end of the day Sunday, June 9. If you choose Twitter, Instagram or Google Plus, use the hashtag #lohudmusic.
We’ll pick a winner Monday, June 10, and publish all the submissions here at The Listening Room, so be creative!
